POKER RULES 2007
– Games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 on the night they are being held. If you are not there by 7:00, the game will start without you, and the blinds will be put in for you until you arrive. If you are not there by eight, all of your chips will be divided among the players. Please be prompt.
– The buy-in for the games is $20. If there are 8 or fewer players, $10 of the total pot will go to the house for refreshments. If there are 9-12 players, $15 will go to the house. If there are 13-16, $20 will go to the house. One dollar from each player goes to the year end prize. The rest is split between 1st and 2nd place finishers, with 1st place getting 70%, and 2nd get 30%. If there are 13 or more players, $20 goes to the third place finisher.
– If there are more than ten players, there will be two tables. The tables will be combined when a total of eight players remain. If a table ever has a two player advantage, one player will be moved to the table with fewer players. The player from the table with more players in the same relative position as the player that was just eliminated on the other table is moved.
– Every player begins with $100 in chips.
– Blinds begin at $1 and $2 dollars. After one hour, they go up to $2 and $4 dollars. After two hours, they go up to $3 and $6. After three hours, they go up to $4 and $8. After four hours, they go up to $5 and $10. After five hours, they go up to $10 and $20. After six hours, they go up to $20 and $40.
– The game is called at 2 am. The player with the most chips is declared the winner. If there is a tie, one more hand is played, with all players automatically ‘All in’. If there are more than 2 players, no more hands are played, and position is determined by chip totals.
– There will be a yearly winner. The winner will be determined by a points system determined by each player’s attendance, average place, number of players survived per game, number of players personally eliminated, and money won/lost. The yearly winner receivers the pot collected monthly for that prize.
– The first game will be No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em. Every game after that will be chosen by the 2nd place finisher from the previous month. If the 2nd place finisher won’t be attending, the next lowest place that will attend gets to choose. The choices include: Texas Hold ‘Em, Seven Card Stud, and Omaha. Variations of those three games are allowed. The player also gets to choose the speed of the blinds and the starting amount of chips (within reason).
– After the main event each night there will be a game dubbed the 1st loser game for those who were eliminated early. This game will have a $5 buy-in and will always be no-limit Texas Hold ‘Em. One dollar from the total pot will be collected for a year-end award for the biggest loser of them all.
– After the 1st loser game there can be a 2nd loser game, which also has a five dollar buy in and will always be HORSE (Hold ‘em, Omaha, Raz, Stud, Eight or better)
