The Rosetree Kingdom
The monarchy of the Northern Elves possesses the oldest existing family line on Habololy. The first elves crowned a king in the center of a field of roses in the center of a forest, and henceforth the monarchy and the elves that followed it were known as the Rosetree elves. Their kingdom is centered in the very place where the first king was crowned, known as the Court of the Rose. It is a beautiful monument to the elven crafts and to their longevity. It is also the only land that has always remained under the control of the monarchy.
The kingdom of the Rosetree has never been a military or economic power, even when it was one of the only nations in existence. It has never ruled over any creature but an elf. Since the first human nations began to organize, its people have lived under the flag of other nations. These facts have never seemed to concern the Rosetrees, who look out for the well-being and continuation of the northern elves above all else. Theirs is a kingdom of ideals and elves not of land and power. They are the keepers of an elven history and of a way of life.
Although every nation that knows of the Rosetrees recognizes their official existence, few take the time to trade with, consult, or worry about them. They pose no military threat, and have little of value to trade. Only the Tinkocracy has every tried to find and destroy the Court of the Rose. The Kingdom of Icefia and the Frozensky Clandom have active communication with the Rosetrees. The Kingdom of Icefia does so because of the many Northern Elves that live in the nation, the Frozensky Clandom does do out of respect and the quest to create their own nation that can stand the test of time.
The Northern Elves will almost always consider themselves first a member of the Rosetree Kingdom, then a member of the nation in which they live. Only the Kingdom of Icefia allows the elves to attain full citizenship and not swear allegiance to the king of Icefia. All other nations are wary of the Northern Elves. The Rosetrees have been making every effort to alleviate this problem in order to better allow their elves to live throughout Habololy. They have met with very limited success, as most nations will not change their position.
